Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams ended their seasons at  the Atlantic 10 Championships. The 11th-seeded men took on sixth-seeded Richmond last Friday and the 12th-seeded women opened against fifth-seeded Xavier yesterday.

The men lost 4-0 against the Spiders, coming away with only one victory in both doubles and singles action. The first doubles team of juniors Luis Guevara and Oscar Yanez managed the only win of the day, taking an 8-3 victory.

Singles matches involving Guevara and freshmen Miguel Suarez and Trevor Haskell went unfinished after Richmond claimed its fourth win of the afternoon. In the best-of-seven series, when one team achieves four wins, all remaining matches, including those still in progress are abandoned.

In singles action, Ethan Dunbar beat Yanez, 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Elliot Fanshel lost, 6-1, 6-1, to Jesse Feder, while Paul Nahon defeated sophomore Javier Ortiz, 6-0, 6-0. In the unfinished matches, after losing the first set, 6-3, Guevara was behind 5-2 when play was called. Haskell was behind in the second set, 3-2, after losing the opener, 6-1. Miguel Suarez was ahead 3-1 in the second after he was the only Bonnie to win a singles match, taking the opener, 6-4.

In the remainder of the doubles matches, the second-team pairing of Fanshel and Ortiz lost, 9-8, in six sets, while the third team of Haskell and Suarez lost, 8-4.

The women lost their opening round match against Xavier yesterday 4-0.

No Bonnies won any of their matches Thursday.

The doubles team of senior Manuela Marin-Salcedo and freshman Fatya Amiri lost to Xavier’s Kally Alkine and Katie Pleiman 8-3.
