St. Bonaventure University has yet again been included on The Princeton Review’s “The Best 378 Colleges” in the nation and named a “Best Northeastern College.” The annual list, which is released each summer and only recognizes 15 percent of the nation’s four-year colleges, has included St. Bonaventure several times.
Student reviews of Bona’s included statements like “talented instructors make class both fun and informative,” and “most do a good job at engaging the class and promoting discussion” among students.
Thomas Missel, director of media relations and marketing, said faculty and administrators take student comments to heart.
“The best part about the Princeton Review is that their college profiles have an authenticity about them that the other ranking services don’t, and that’s because they include direct student input,” Missel said. “It’s so much more meaningful when our students are saying it.”
Although there is a certain amount of expectation for St. Bonaventure to be included every year, Missel said he is assured that the presence on the list does not affect faculty work ethic or drive.
“Their commitment to making Bonaventure better every day is simply a given. The rankings are just a natural byproduct of that commitment,” he added.
This year, St. Bonaventure’s campus radio station, WSBU-FM, was again ranked in the top five college radio stations in the country, checking in at No. 4.
The Princeton Review is comprised of detailed profiles of each of the included colleges, complete with rating scores across eight categories and student surveys.
