Hi all, and welcome to this week’s Fashion Focus. I can’t believe we are coming to the end of the first semester. It has gone by so quickly. Time really does fly when you’re having fun. As the semester comes to a close, this means one thing — Christmas is just around the corner.
Thursday is Thanksgiving, which means Black Friday is near. Coming from a land far from here, I had never heard of Black Friday, but upon researching it, I can now say I am very excited indeed. Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year, and a lot of shops take advantage of the high traffic by offering sales and discounts. This would be the best excuse to get the Christmas shopping started or even completely finished. Although parting with the dollars and buying the actual presents is usually the easier part, it’s picking presents that the receiver will actually like that is difficult. Maybe it’s time for you to compile a little wish list; I still write my list to Santa. I have built two boards of gift ideas for him and her. I have splurged a little bit beyond the usual student budget, just because it is Christmas.
1: Forever 21: Statement Necklace $12.80
2: Sephora: Marc Jacobs Mini Perfume Set $39
3: Urban Decay: Naked Basics Eye shadow Set $27
4: ASOS: Blush Pink Blazers $86.31
5: ASOS: Rabbit Slippers $21.36
6: ASOS: Purple Patterned Block Heel $88.99

The common perception that women love shoes and handbags is true. Perfume and makeup are also good back ups. These are picks that I feel most women would love. River Island and ASOS have gorgeous shoes and handbags.

Don’t fret buying for the man in your life. They really aren’t as difficult as they seem. Stick to the basic shoes, hats, wallets and belts and the old reliable aftershave. Boys love their sneakers, and men’s collections are becoming increasingly popular. With many different types and trends out there, it’s hard to go wrong with some footwear. My favorite is the recently-trending blazers. These come in great colors and fit into most boys’ styles. I have noticed a lot of boys wearing New Balance. These are the new design, and they aren’t that expensive. If you’d like to take a different route, there are many aftershaves out there. It is hard to pick out the right one, but I recommend Ralph Lauren or Giorgio Armani. Having worked in a perfume store back home, these are the most popular and the safest bet when buying aftershave.
