On Oct. 30, Laugh Pack, St. Bonaventure’s comedy club, will be hosting a Halloween-themed comedy night.
The event will be held in the Rathskeller at 7 p.m. however, Chattertons, St. Bonaventure’s slam poetry club, will start the show at 6:30 p.m. There will be nine members of Laugh Pack performing on stage, compared to five last year.
Laugh Pack is a student-run club, which started in the spring of 2014. They will be going to a comedy competition in New York City this year. Laugh Pack meets three to four times a week in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, from anywhere to an hour to an hour and a half.
Dakota Ward, sophomore journalism and mass communication major and the founding member of Laugh Pack, said, “Wear your Halloween costumes. If you don’t, you will be called out on and possibly brought onto the stage. It will be a very fun time. Bring anyone, your friends, your family, your aunts and uncles and even your grandma that you only see once a year,” Ward said.
Br. Ross Chamberland, OFM, attended the Laugh Pack’s shows last year and said he enjoyed it.
“The Laugh Pack event is great; it’s live and it is student-run,” Chamberland said. “It is improv comedy; it’s not easy anytime you stand in front of anybody, especially in front of your peers, and then to make people laugh, that really isn’t easy.”
Chamberland said students should come out and support the Laugh Pack.
“Come check it out, these young adults are putting themselves out there for our entire community, so go and do it”
