Bonaventure offers approximately 25 undergraduate courses online over the summer, as well as several courses taught on campus, according to Michael Fischer, provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Graduate courses can be taken on Bonaventure’s main campus, the Buffalo center, which is on the Hilbert College campus, and online.

Subjects offered include history courses, business courses, Clare College courses and many more.

Matthew Trifoso, a senior accounting major, said, despite the cost, taking summer courses was beneficial.

“Taking summer classes online was a good decision, because it put me ahead of my requirements,” Trifoso said. “They were a little expensive, but also gave me the chance to raise some of my grades up if they were falling.”

The university decides which courses are offered during the summer sessions by anticipating where the greatest student interest lies and what courses faculty are interested in teaching. Graduate courses are decided upon according to year-round academic plans, said Fischer.

“Online classes are a great option the university has to offer that allows students to take more classes,” Joseph Ferencik, a junior theology major, said. “I love taking classes that I think sound interesting, and I want to take as many as I can.”

For undergraduate courses, each credit hour costs $460. Therefore, each three-credit-hour course costs $1,380.

Courses will be offered in two sessions. The first session runs from May 18 to June 18. The second session runs from June 29 to July 30. Courses are scheduled on Monday through Thursday. Some night courses will be offered as well. Registration is currently open to students at www.mysbu.edu.

St. Bonaventure faculty will teach all summer courses.
