Colorful leaves, chilly air and pumpkin spice lattes—oh my!
Fall arrived Wednesday, and Bonaventure students said they are excited for the change in season and the activities that come with it.
“My favorite part of fall would have to be how beautiful the trees look when they change colors,” said Kinsey Maddison, a sophomore chemistry major.
Victoria Soler, a sophomore political science and international studies double major, said she loves the fall fashion trends.
“I look forward to wearing fall apparel: hoodies, light jackets, leggings and riding boots,” Soler said.
In addition, Soler said she relishes the scents of the season.
“Without a doubt, my favorite part of fall is pumpkin-spiced cheesecake candles from Bath and Body Works. They’ve changed my life,” Soler said.
In addition to candles, Bath and Body Works offers fall-friendly scents in lotion, body spray and body wash, according to the store’s website. Some of their new scents this season include Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Perfect Autumn Day and Marshmallow Pumpkin latte.
Along with new scents, fall comes with different foods too.
“I look forward to apple picking, apple cider, cider doughnuts, pumpkin pie and not to mention my favorite holiday: Thanksgiving,” Maddison said.
Students looking to get a taste of these fall foods can check out Pumpkinville in Ellicottville.
“One of the best things our community has to offer is Pumpkinville,” Maddison said. “Everything about the atmosphere there screams fall time, and it’s a great way to take a little break away from school on the weekends.”
While there are a few activities students can partake in around town, some said they have dreams of other options.
“I think it would be cool to have some sort of recreational football league at Bonaventure or in the area,” said Jackson Sperduti, a freshman industrial management major.
Kevin O’Brien, a freshman business management major, agreed that he would enjoy seeing Bonaventure hold different fall activities, like a sports league. He also said students’ moods can change based on the weather, so he expects to find out who enjoys the cold weather soon.
“Some people love summer, so they get sad when it goes,” O’Brien said. “Others love cooler temperature, so they’re happy that’s coming.”
