Mt. Irenaeus is hosting its 15th annual auction at the Premier Banquet Center, where ticket holders will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of items.
The auction, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, is an event in which members of the community can come together and support the Mountain.
Tickets to attend the auction will be $60 per person. This fee also includes food and cocktails.
This year, there are over 200 items available at the auction. Some of the items include two drones, a Go Pro camera, a Tao cross blessed by Pope Francis, Disney Park hopper passes, homemade goods produced by the friars at the Mountain and more, according to Mike Sullivan, trustee of the Mountain and co-chair of the auction committee.
“The Mountain Auction is our largest fundraising event,” said Sullivan. “As with any Mt. Irenaeus event, we begin with fellowship and community.
Most of all, we gather in support of Mt. Irenaeus and all of the work that both the friars and our volunteers provide for the students and the Mountain Community.”
Sullivan is organizing the Mountain Auction alongside Kim Palmer, a fellow co-chair of the Auction Committee.
There will also be destination packages for vacation getaways available for guests to bid on for Niagara-on-the-Lake hotels in Canada, Quail Hollow Resort in Ohio, the Gitt Estate in Pennsylvania and Mark Twain Country in New York, said Sullivan.
Half of the funds raised will go toward the annual budget for the daily operation expenses of Mt. Irenaeus, while the other half will be going into the Building Maintenance Fund that, according to Sullivan.
In addition to the auction at Mt. Irenaeus, the third annual online auction will be hosted Nov. 13 through 22. Further details will be posted on www.mounti.com before the auction.
“We really treasure our time when we are able to make it to Mt. Irenaeus and are honored to be able to support it with the Mountain Auction,” said Sullivan. “Mt. Irenaeus is not just a physical place that we all go to, but a way of living within our own communities after we leave Bona’s.”
