A glimpse of the geniuses behind the some of the current fashion icons in Hollywood:
Zendaya—Stylist, Luxury Lawson aka Law Roach
Behind American singer and model Zendaya’s strikingly beautiful style Zendaya is none other than Luxury Lawson aka Law Roach. Lawson, who has an undoubtedly keen eye for fashion, owned a vintage boutique in Chicago, Deliciously Vintage, where celebrities and international stylists frequented. As a result of his boutique’s success and popularity, he became a celebrity stylist and began to work with Zendaya when she was 13, as well as a host of other celebrities including record producer Jeremih and singers Monica and Brandy, according to GlobalGrindTV, a pop culture YouTube channel.
Lupita Nyong’o—Stylist Micaela Erlanger
Micaela Erlanger is the female stylist powerhouse behind the styles of actors Lupita Nyong’o, Winona Ryder and Jared Leto. A fashion student turned Hollywood tastemaker, Erlanger graduated from Parsons School of Design. She worked under celebrity stylist Annabel Tollman, as a styling assistant for a number of years before branching out on her own. Not only is she now known for her A-List clientele but also for merging feminine colors with contrasting fabrics and bold prints to create career-changing looks that have transformed rising stars into fashion icons almost overnight, said Hollywood Reporter and Vanity Fair.
Rita Ora—Jason Rembert
Jason Rembert is the man behind British singer Rita Ora’s classic, red carpet look and edgy London street style. Rembert, a New York City native, humbly made his way into fashion by interning for major publications like Elle and Harper’s Bazaar during his undergraduate years at Hofstra University. After working under popular stylist and later mentor Wouri Vice, he began to build his own clientele, which included popular artists Wale and Electrik Red, according to Billboard and Rembert’s website.
Justin Bieber—Karla Welch & Kemal Harris
According to Hollywood Reporter and Vanity Fair, Karla Welch & Kemal Harris, a match made in style heaven, are the beauty and brains behind Felicity Jones, Justin Bieber and Elisabeth Moss. The Canadian natives and self-certified minimalists became the first bi-coastal stylists, covering both New York City and Los Angeles, after meeting at a show during Fashion Week. The pair is most known for their stylish experimentation with masculine structures, feminine fabrics and bold colors against minimal hues.
