Bandits

The Buffalo Bandits are headed to the 2016 NLL Playoffs. The Bandits may still have two games left in the regular season, but their 11-5 record is enough to have clinched a spot in the post season. The Bandits are now looking to claim the division title and the league title. The team is currently 1.5 games ahead of the New England Black Wolves, which means if the Bandits win one game, or the Black Wolves lose two of their final three games, the Bandits will clinch the East Division title. The league title is still up for grabs as well, but the Bandits are going to need some help if they want to win it. The Saskatchewan Rush are a game ahead of the Bandits and also have two games remaining in their regular season. If the Bandits can win out the season and the Rush lose one of its final two games, Buffalo wins the head to head tiebreaker and the league title. The Bandits will take on the Rochester Knighthawks tomorrow night at 8 p.m. with hopes of clinching the division and staying in contention for a league title.

Bills

Last week, the NFL released the 2016 regular season schedule. Buffalo opens the year on Sept. 11 at the Baltimore Ravens in quarterback Tyrod Taylor’s first game against his former team. Unlike most years in Buffalo, the Bills received not one, but two primetime games. The first one comes in the home opener week two on Thursday Night Football against the division rival New York Jets. The second one comes in week nine on Monday Night Football on the road against Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks. The rest of the Bills schedule seems rather difficult with three West Coast trips (Los Angeles, Seattle, and Oakland) and match-ups with the NFC West and the AFC North. Something that does benefit Buffalo is the luxury of having three straight home games in the month of December. If they can survive until that final quarter of the season, they have a shot at riding the raucous home crowd and tough playing conditions Buffalo has to offer into the postseason. Then again, we have been down this road before.
