Pastels have always been a color of spring and summer. They are the perfect shades to brighten up your look with shirts, shoes and accessories.
The color lilac is making a comeback and is going to be your statement color for the upcoming seasons. As seen on the summer 2018 runway, all top designers had lilac somewhere in their show.
Lilac can come in many different shades for whatever your mood is. Dark and daring or light and airy, anyone will be able to pull it off.
The perfect pale purple goes with everything in your closet, from denim to plaid, floral to velvet.
All of your favorite stores like Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Free People and Target have different varieties of the trend, boasting many styles and prices.
People won’t only be rocking lilac in their clothing, though, beauty companies also came out with lilac-colored products: eye shadows, glitter eyeliners, highlighter shades and even matte lilac lipsticks. Brands like Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, Milk Makeup, Urban Decay and Too Faced all have beauty products that you can buy to rock the lilac look.
The first photo above shows a lilac sweatshirt from Urban Outfitters, intended for chillier days in spring and summer. While the brand paired the piece with black denim shorts, you can also opt for leggings, jeans or a denim skirt.
The second photo from Urban Outfitters shows a pair of plum corduroy, paper-bag waisted shorts, able to be dressed up or down; here, the choice lies in where you are wearing the look. Adding a white or black blouse or button-up shirt is a way you can dress it up and adding a T-shirt or tank, as shown in the middle photo, is a good way to wear it more casually.
The right photo is a dress from Forever 21. With graduation, graduation parties, weddings and any other important events that comes with summer, a dress is the perfect way to formalize.
The lilac trend is a perfect color to transition into spring and summer. And, if you don’t want to wear such a bold piece, there are many different ways you can add small bits of lilac into your wardrobe.
