Was it even worth it in the end? Ever since we were little, first hearing about the prom was a highlight of me growing up and going through high school. It was such an exciting time and going into sophomore year just made me want it more. Now to junior year, you are finally at the step of going shopping for your suit or dress and flowers. Was it really that exciting now looking back?
Coming from a smaller school, prom wasn’t the greatest nor the worst experience. For many people, one of the greatest highlights is the food.
The class officers of your grade always try to get the best food place. However, if you don’t, then you just eat before and save a lot of money. Luckily, the food at my prom was good, which only made the night for me.
Junior year prom was probably the worst dance for a lot of us. If you had a small school then the seniors and the juniors would have their proms together. If you went to a bigger school, then your proms would probably be separate.
The seniors would take the dance floor and that would be it the whole time. It would be the music that they picked and if you didn’t like it then what was the point of being there. It was a waste of time and money even to go because it was no fun at all.
Now senior year prom was a totally different story.
It was the most fun I had at a “dance” in my whole life. I didn’t think that it would be fun at all because of the previous year. Now you have this type of seniority that comes along when you get to the prom. It was the best feeling ever.
Your date is also a big part of your experience. If you don’t have someone who wants to dance at the actual dance, then what’s the point of even going. Going with your friends is a completely different time, because they will actually want to dance and have the time of your lives.
That’s what happened to me in my senior year. I decided to go with my friends and just had the best time of my life. I would never regret the things that happened this prom because it was just perfect in my eyes. Of course, not everyone has the same experiences, but personally, it was great.
Junior prom seems to be just a waste of your time and effort. What’s the point of going and not having a fun time? Do not waste your money. I know people will want to go but wait it out. You’ll understand when you get older that you will think it was a waste of time.
Senior prom is where you’ll have the best time of your lives because it’s basically the celebration of your school career, so enjoy it!
