Halloween should be a step up from last year since Covid vaccines have been approved. People are excited to be able to socialize and have fun this Halloween. Here are some pop culture costumes that are sure to be relevant and popular this year.
Contestants from “Squid Game” are an easy one. Wear a forest green tracksuit or green sweatpants and a green zip up sweatshirt. Add some white numbers to the left side of the chest. For shoes, wear slip on white vans. This is sure to be a trendy costume since the show was extremely popular.
The crew from “Outer Banks” would make a great group costume. For the leader of the Pogue’s, John B., wear a patterned button down short sleeve shirt and jean shorts or swim trunks with flip flops. Do not forget about the iconic blue bandana that he wears around his neck.
For Sarah Cameron, wear jean shorts and a cropped tank top and white sneakers. Maybe add an “S” necklace or a ripped piece of a blue bandana. Wear your hair down and straight or slightly wavy.
For Pope Heyward, wear a simple t-shirt or button down t-shirt with grey or green khaki shorts. Add a backwards black baseball hat and vans or slides.
For JJ Maybank, wear a muscle tee, cargo shorts and hiking boots. For accessories add a shark tooth necklace.
For Kiara Carrera or Kie, wear a striped or ribbed crop top and a vans. Add a big fabric headband and a Yin and Yang necklace to accessorize.
Marvel had a bunch of new releases this year. To dress as Wanda Maximoff from the Halloween episode of “WandaVision” wear a red skirt, red tank top, red gloves and boots. Add a red cape and a red head piece or headband. If you want to go all out you can wear a red wig.
To dress as Vision from the Halloween episode, wear a green hoodie and green pants. Add yellow shorts on top of the pants and a yellow cape. Wear red face paint and add a yellow gem on your forehead.
Jeff Bezos in space was a big deal this year. He was one of the first space tourists. To dress as Bezos in space, wear a blue tracksuit, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. You can put a nametag on it that says Jeff Bezos to really emphasize the costume.
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are a relevant celebrity couple. To dress as Fox, wear a dress and heels. You can wear a black wig if you feel like it. For MGK, go with a pink sweatshirt, black pants and Doc Martens. Add some temporary tattoos to your arms or draw a sleeve of tattoos on each arm. You can also wear a bleach-blonde wig. People will immediately recognize the star studded couple costume.
Kim Kardashian made quite the statement at the Met Gala this year. She was covered head to toe in black, no portion of her body was visible. Wear black leggings, a black long sleeve shirt, add a black t-shirt on top of the long sleeve and wear long black gloves. For shoes you can wear heels and put a black socks or stockings over them. Add a black face covering to complete the look.
Princess Diana’s athletic or loungewear style has been trending on Tik Tok. To dress as the fashion icon wear biker shorts, a grey Harvard crewneck, long tube socks, white dad sneakers and sunglasses.
