It is winter in Western New York. The frigid temperatures, heavy snowstorms and blustering winds are back yet again. New Yorkers must bundle up to face these unpleasant conditions. There are new fashion trends to combat this winter weather.
Uggs are making a comeback, but did they ever really go out of style in Western New York? Mini classic Uggs seems to be the shoe of choice for many this winter season. They are simple and plain shoes that are very versatile. These boots can be styled many different ways. People can dress them up with jeans, or style them more comfortably with sweats. The classic chestnut color seems to be extremely popular this season. The ultra mini Uggs are also in style. They are very short and stop right at the ankle.
Ugg slippers are also in this winter. There are a few colors of the slipper that are sold out from the Ugg website. The Ugg Disquette slipper has a platform and the inside is lined with the soft sheepskin material. It has a trim on the top that is made from the same material. The Ugg Tasman slipper is also very popular. The back of the slipper covers the heel of the foot so they seem more suitable for outside wear.
The Moon Boot Icon boot is popular among some fashionistas. These boots seem pretty futuristic or suitable for space travel. They look like they are made from a puffer jacket. The outside is made of a nylon material. The inside has a polyester insulation to keep the feet warm. Moon Boots are available in many different colors.
Sherpa quarter zips are back in fashion. They are very warm and useful for this cold winter season. Patterned sherpas can be styled for a chic ski resort look.
Leather pants are still in. They are a good staple piece and can be dressed up with heels and a button up shirt or dressed down with an oversized hoodie. Flared pants are also making a big comeback. Flared jeans are very popular as well as flared knit and yoga pants.
Puffer vests are trendy right now. Vests are good for layering hoodies or crewnecks under. They can be found in all kinds of colors which can be perfect to stand out against the white snow. White, black or brown puffers are versatile and can be matched with many outfits because of the neutral color.
Longline jackets are also pretty popular and more acceptable for areas with warmer weather. Aviator jackets are also in. Shearling lining on coats and sweaters is very on trend.
Oversized scarves also seem to be in. These scarfs are very long, some even hit ankle length. They may be a little impractical or hard to walk around in but they are definitely good to keep the neck warm. Basic solid color scarves and patterned scarves are popular.
The 2022 Pantone color of the year is Very Peri. This periwinkle blue color is subtle. It is a color which would be nice during the transition from the winter into the spring season. Matching knit sets, sweaters, accessories, earrings, purses, even shoes in this color are something to look out for this season.
