Sunday, March 20 marks the first day of spring. The beginning of the new season means new spring fashion trends will start making their way into people’s wardrobes.
Tik Tok seems to have a big influence over fashion trends, so does Instagram. Here are some trends that may catch on according to these predictions from social media.
Corset and bustier tops are still in style. Tighter tops paired with baggy pants, or looser-legged pants are the current trend. Crochet and knit tops in light colors are in style this spring. Tube tops and shirts with belled or flared sleeves may also be popular this season.
Oversized button-up shirts are in style, either worn on their own or layered on top of another crop top. Blazers are also another trendy item to layer with. Many different types of blazers have been popular lately such as oversized, cropped, and leather blazers.
Within the five last year bold or statement pants with simple tops have been trendy. The 90s style of low-rise jeans seems to be making a comeback, some people love it, some people hate it. Trouser pants in many colors will also be in fashion this spring. Pairing loose-leg trousers with cropped shirts, cropped blazers, or cropped jackets will be popular.
Adding pops of color to outfits by wearing colorful shoes is the latest trend. Dad sneakers, or sneakers with a chunky sole and throwback paneling such as New Balance 990 v5, New Balance 530 are in. This spring Reebok Vintage Club C and New Balance 5740 sneakers will also be popular. Nike Dunks and Blazers are still in style, as well as platform Converse.
Ballet flats might be making a comeback, especially for professional or work attire. Pointed-toe heels and boots are becoming popular again. Platform shoes, heels, and flip flops will be in style according to fashion bloggers on Tik Tok.
Accessories are very trendy as of recently. Bold or interesting accessories can really elevate a simple outfit.
Some hair accessory trends to look out for this season include flower-shaped claw clips for hair in many bright colors, patterned hair clips, and textured headbands.
Accessories that add pops of color to an outfit will be popular. Tote bags in different colors and designs such as checkered, or dotted are in. Textured bags, chunky clutches, and abstract or organic-shaped purses are predicted to be the handbag trends that will be in style this spring.
Colors? Pastels are usually in during the spring season. Minty green, light pink, pale yellow, lavender and baby blue are all common colors, especially around the Easter season. Other colors that may be trending this spring include orange, green and Very Peri, the Pantone color of the year, is a subtle periwinkle blue color that is sure to be popular this season.
As it warms up maybe some of these spring fashion trends will be seen around campus. Consider trying some of these trends if you think they would be a nice addition to your closet.
