When I think of fall, I envision bleak weather accompanied by a delightful pumpkin spice latte. Moreover, I envision what my dorm will look like. What decorations will I get? What will make it cozy? What will pass fire inspections?
Upon further investigation – and a swift trip to Walmart – I came across the most ideal fall décor.
The first decoration my eye captured after entering the store were medium-sized Styrofoam pumpkins. The pumpkins rested on a low-set shelf available in a multitude of colors: orange, black, grey, brown and even yellow. These Styrofoam pumpkins make for a perfect decoration by carefully arranging them on top of a shelf, desk or dresser.
Once I finished looking at the pumpkins, I veered up and down aisles I had never yet seen. Located at the end of one aisle, sat a thick stack of velvet throw blankets. I observed the different colors: grey, red, orange and white. However, the orange undoubtedly struck my eyes signaling fall. Comfortable blankets, such as these, could be folded and left at the foot of a bed making for a colorful addition.
Leaving the blankets behind, I took off towards the bakery in quest to find pumpkin flavors. As a sweet tooth addict, nothing implies fall more than a gratifying pumpkin cookie. Thankfully, I was not disappointed, located at the front of the bakery rested a hearty display of pumpkin sugar cookies. Each one evenly coated in a thin layer of orange sugar, holding eighteen cookies per container. Pumpkin sugar cookies are an excellent fun-sized snack to pick up that will not take up extra storage.
Lastly, before I departed from the store, I made a brief pause in the clothing section. Two knitted sweaters hung on a rack to my right. One was red with white stripes, while the other was emerald green with white. Knitted sweaters are an immaculate way to deliver both comfort and style this fall season.
Overall, there are countless ways to prepare a dorm for fall. From grabbing throw pillows or signs to hang on the outside of a door, to wearing a comfortable pair of Ugg’s. There are all kinds of ways to bring comfort to your dorm this fall season.
