St. Bonaventure, N.Y. — The St. Bonaventure men’s soccer team defeated Little Three rival Canisius 4-0 at the Marra Athletics Complex Wednesday night.
The Bonnies (3-3-1, 0-1 A-10) improve to .500 while the Golden Griffins (1-6-1, 0-1 MAAC) picked up their fourth-consecutive loss.
Junior forward Umechi Akuazaoku’s goal with 9:16 left gave Bonaventure a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
The Bonnies second goal came via junior midfielder Andres Javitt with 38:11 in the second half.
Junior midfielder Kenzo Brito converted a second-half penalty kick to extend Bonaventure’s lead to 3-0.
Freshman forward Daniel Helle scored the Bonnies fourth and final goal with 25 minutes left.
Bonaventure senior goalkeeper Jules Dechert saved five shots in the shutout.
The Bonnies continue their homestand against George Mason on Saturday at 6 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
