The St. Bonaventure University men’s golf team heads to Apalachin this weekend to compete in the Matthews Auto Intercollegiate Golf Invitational.
The tournament, hosted by Binghamton University, will be played Oct. 1-2 at the Links at Hiawatha Landing. Fourteen schools will compete.
Graduate student Lance Sininger looks to continue his excellent play from the team’s last outing at the Cornell Invitational. Sininger earned a top-10 finish after shooting rounds of one-over (72) and even-par (71), a performance that won him Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Golfer of the Week.
Senior Jude Cummings also looks to build off a strong outing. Cummings finished second on the team in Watchung after shooting 73 and 75 to tie for 28th overall on the individual leaderboard.
Other names to watch include sophomore Michael Bucko and freshman Josh James. Bucko shot a solid 74 after shooting 77 in the opening round. James shot an impressive 75 and 74 to take 31st individually.
The opening round of the Mathews Auto Intercollegiate Golf Invitational kicks off at 9 a.m. Sunday. Round 2 will begin Monday at 9 .a.m.
