The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team hosts Little Three rival Canisius in the Reilly Center Thursday after ending its three-game losing streak with a road victory over Loyola Maryland on Saturday.
The Bonnies (2-4, 0-0 A-10) were blown out, 85-47, by the Golden Griffins (2-3, 0-0 MAAC) last season in Buffalo. However, Canisius is 0-3 on the road so far this season
The Bonnies caught the injury bug earlier this season, challenging the depth of their current 10-person roster. However, according to Bona head coach Jim Crowley, the Bonnies will have a fully healthy roster for Thursday’s game.
“As of right now, you know, there’s kind of the normal aches and pains, [but] as long as everything goes right tomorrow, we should have a full group like we did on Saturday,” said Crowley.
The Golden Griffins have done well at home this season, registering wins against Saint Francis (PA) and Division II D’Youville. However, they remain winless on the road and are coming off a 90-58 road loss to Illinois Thursday night.
“In all of their (Canisius’) road games, they’ve had moments where they’ve shot the ball very well,” said Crowley. “They have started road games really, really well, so I think we’ve got to be ready for that.”
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online.
