Daniel Hungerford, St. Bonaventure University’s former vice president for Finance and Administration, left the university on Thursday to take on the same role at Bucknell University.

Nancy Taylor will serve in the interim while the university conducts a search committee.

“The search for the [vice president] for Finance and Administration has launched,” said Tom Missel, Bonaventure’s chief communications officer. “We are working with Storbeck Search [an executive search firm] to conduct this process and to help us provide the most talented and diverse pool of candidates for our review.”

The search committee aims to name a permanent vice president for Finance and Administration by December.

The university search committee includes David Hilmey, the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs; Mike Anderson, a university trustee; Tae Cooke, a senior physics lecturer; Janet Glogouski, associate vice president for Advancement; René Hauser, dean of the School of Education; Katie O’Brien, vice president for Student Affairs; Bernie Valento, vice president for Enrollment; and Caitlin Webster, director of Events and Conference.

“Dan’s remarkable attention to detail has helped put the university on stable financial footing in challenging times,” said Jeff Gingerich, university president. “His financial management has contributed to the great enrollment success we’ve had the last few years. While I’ll miss Dan and the great work he’s done for us the last six years, this is a tremendous opportunity for him and I wish him all the best.”
