The St. Bonaventure University women’s soccer team opened up Atlantic 10 play with a 1-0 loss to the George Washington Revolutionaries yesterday afternoon.

The defeat brought the Bonnies to 1-7-1 (0-1-0 A-10), while the Revolutionaries moved to 3-4-2 (1-0-0 in A-10).

The Brown and White came out firing with six first-half shots, but none found the back of the net.

In a more defensive second half, SBU only produced two shots on net compared to GW’s 4, which turned out to be the difference maker. George Washington graduate forward Lauren Prentice found an opening in the 77th minute, scoring what turned out to be the game-winning goal.

After a three-game skid, Bonaventure looks to get back on track this Sunday at 1:00 P.M. as they take on the UMass Minutewomen at the Tom 80’ and Michelle Marra Athletics Field Complex. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
