The St. Bonaventure men’s soccer team hosts the Fordham Rams today as both teams kick off Atlantic 10 play.
The Bonnies (2-4-1) are coming off a 1-1 deadlock against Le Moyne. Fordham (3-2-2) enters Saturday’s contest winless in its last three games, including losses to Penn and Marist as well a 2-2 draw against Manhattan.
The Bonnies will look to continue their high-octane offensive production, following a game in which they mustered 14 total shot attempts and 11 corner kicks against Le Moyne.
Rams goalkeeper Carter Abbott will stand in the Bonnies’ way between the sticks. The graduate student has allowed only 1.38 goals per game and made 24 total saves in six games played this season.
Key to the Bonnies’ offensive attack this season has been senior forward Andres Javitt. The Barquisimeto, Venezuela native leads the Bonnies in both goals (2) and assists (2). A multitude of Bonnies have contributed offensively this season, as six different players have scored goals and nine players have picked up assists through seven matches.
Leading the way offensively for Fordham is junior midfielder Daniel D’Ippolito, with a team-high in both goals (5) and assists (2). FU will look to continue its hot offensive start to the season. As a team, the Rams have scored 13 goals across their seven games, compared to the Bonnies’ seven.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 pm today at the Tom ‘80 and Michelle Marra Athletics Complex and is free to attend. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
