Women’s soccer to battle UMASS this afternoon

The St. Bonaventure women’s soccer team will face the University of Massachusetts at home today on Bona’s Senior Day. 

UMass is coming off a 1-0 loss to #22 Saint Louis University Thursday night. Overall, Massachusetts owns a record of 5-3-1 (0-1-0 A10). 

The Minutewomen average 1.5 goals per game while giving up .94. Individually, senior midfielder Bella Recinos is the Minutewomen’s leading scorer and pointgetter with 19 points on the season, while senior goalkeeper Bella Mendoza has stopped 81.9% of shots faced. 

The Bonnies come in with a three-game losing streak, holding a record of 1-7-1 (0-1-0 A10) . St. Bonaventure averages .56 goals per outing while giving up 2.11 goals per game. Freshman defender Evie Underhill leads the Bonas in scoring with three points, while junior goalkeeper Jael has saved Schubert  67.6% of shots against her. 

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Tom ‘80 and Michelle Marra Athletics field complex and can be watched on ESPN+.
