A rough start for the Bonnies at the annual Murray Cup allowed Siena College to win the title for the third consecutive season, 280-284. The win for the Saints evens up the all-time series at three

Junior Gabe Williams led the way for the Bonnies with a career-best round of 66, six under par and led the field by four strokes. Williams finished the day with six birdies and no bogeys. His score of 66 best his previous collegiate record of 69 which he accomplished last season.

Other scorers on the day for the Bonnies included junior Michael Bucko who shot even at 72, which put him in a three-way tie for third place in the individual standings. Graduate Peter Bryne shot four over par at 76, good enough for 10th place. Sophomore  Vinny Liguori shot six over par at 78, putting him in 12th place.

Senior Nick Lyons, who shot two under par at 70, led the way for the Saints This included three birdies and only one bogey to which Lyons then responded by shooting even on the final four holes.

Other Scorers on the day for the Saints included sophomore Mike McConnie and junior Austin Giroux shooting even at 72, placing them in the three-way tie for third. Freshman Connor Kiel shot two over par at 74, good enough for sixth place.

Consistency of the Saints  led them to victory as they got off to an early lead as large as eight strokes, which they never relinquished the rest of the way.

The next event for the Bonnies is the ODU/Kilmarlic Invitational at ODU on Oct. 20-22.
