Not enough people are talking about Maggie Rogers. Many stumbled upon Roger’s from her song with Zach Bryan, “Dawns,” but her solo works have stunning lyrics and a style different from most modern, popular music.

She is currently on her “Don’t Forget Me” tour, the name of her most recent and third studio album, released in April of this year. While she had a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden on October 20, proving she deserves a solidified spot in the music industry, her name does not carry the same weight as artists like Sabrina Carpenter or Clairo.

Rogers’s interesting and creative mind contributes to her work as a whole. She has synesthesia, meaning she can see and hear music in color. This deep connection to her music is evident in her albums.

Her first full studio album, “Heard it in a Past Life, ” was released in 2019. The album cover is a photo of a young Maggie Rogers, seemingly floating in space. That is exactly how to describe the vibe of this album. It’s flushed with youth and uncertainty, but not necessarily badly.

If I were to give an aspiring fan a Rogers song to start with, I would have them listen to “Light On,” a single from this LP.

Her next two albums distinguish themselves from her first. “Surrender” was her second studio album, released in 2022. This album is filled with songs about breaking away from youth.

“Anywhere With You,” off of this album, is arguably one of the best songs in her discography.

This brings us to her most recent album, “Don’t Forget Me.” This album feels the most mature and reminiscent of her three albums. This is her best work collectively. Each song is laced with unforgettable lyrics and heartache that keep the listener coming back.

Rogers has made amazing strides this year. From selling out MSG to performing at Kamala Harris’ rally, she’s gaining the spotlight quickly. Her spunk and unique style of music is more than deserving of more popularity.
