The Office of Safety and Security at St. Bonaventure University has asked students, faculty and staff to avoid 182 E. Union St. in Allegany while police investigate a bomb threat on Monday, according to a Notice Board alert sent out at 12:31 p.m.

New York State Police with K-9 units swept the building and found no evidence of explosives, according to a 4:13 p.m. announcement.

The property, which is about a third of a mile from campus, houses a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation office, a UPS Customer Center, the Challenger Learning Center of the Twin Tier Region and storage for BonaResponds — Bonaventure’s flagship service-based club.

Several environmental conservation offices across the state received similar threats today, according to the earlier alert.
