Want to see Grammy-nominated artists? Emmy-nominated artists?

St. Bonaventure University students can — for completely free.

Throughout the 2024-2025 performing season, The Regina A Quick Center for the Arts is offering a wide net of concerts and rotating galleries.

“The Hunger and Resilience collection is a must-see,” said Rachel Harris, executive director of the arts center.

The gallery by Photographer Michael Nye, which leaves on Nov. 20, features black-and-white photos of people along with a pair of headphones visitors put on to hear these people tell their stories.

“Each story is different, and the resilience part is the most important,” said Harris. “And to hear these stories — the way they describe the feeling of hunger — and what it is like to wonder if your life is worthwhile is truly insightful.”

On Nov. 17, the arts center will host the New York Theater Ballet which will perform Stravinsky’s Firebird. After the performance, the dancers will host a master class to teach students and community members their style.

“We are offering free master classes as a way for our students to engage with the performers,” said Harris. “Some of them will be a bit advanced, but most of them are come as you are in comfortable clothes, and take part in learning to move in a very beautiful style.”

Harris encouraged all students to visit the arts center even if there isn’t a concert going on.

“We’re an open community,” said Harris. “We’re a place for students to hang out, to study and explore their interests in the arts.”
